About Ms. Myles

My name is Jayme Myles and I am 31 years old. I am currently residing in Baltimore, MD and will be returning to my hometown of Cleveland, OH very soon! Go Cavs and Browns!

I graduated from East Technical High School in 2000 with Honors and graduated in the top 20 of my class.  I was active in the School Choir, Gospel Choir, National Honor Society, and the Big Buddy Program.

I went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Baldwin - Wallace College in 2004.  At BWC, I was the Programming Director of the Black Student Alliance (BSA), a Big Buddy in the Buddy System, and a member of Boosting Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students (BACCHUS).  I also participated in the Freedom Road Tour where myself and 15 other students studied the Civil Rights Movement for 7 weeks through the Study Abroad Office.

After graduating from Baldwin - Wallace College, I began my teaching career at a Head Start in Cleveland, OH, teaching 3 -5 year old children.  I then moved on to a charter school, The Academy of Cleveland, where I taught 3rd grade for 2 years before the school closed down suddenly.  I then made the decision to move to Baltimore, MD to teach for Baltimore City Public Schools, where I've taught PreK, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades, over the course of 6 years.  While teaching for Baltimore City Public Schools, I received my Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in Reading.

I enjoy reading and exploring with new technology.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my 2 beautiful children, Allen and Alaijah, doing activities such as frequenting the playground, swimming, visiting the zoo and aquarium, going to the movies and traveling.  I have also recently discovered a new found love of zip lining, white water rafting and baking!
